Hudson River Intersects Gold, Copper and Zinc Mineralization near McFaulds Lake

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 1, 2010) - Hudson River Minerals Ltd. ("Hudson River") (TSX VENTURE:HRM) is pleased to announce the assay results from its recent drilling program southwest of McFaulds Lake. All three drillholes encountered anomalous copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) mineralization with two holes returning anomalous gold (Au).

The first drillhole HR-ML-01 was centred on the Bentley Prospect and returned assay values up to 2,440 ppm Cu, 604 ppb Zn and 272 ppb Au within a volcanic formation. The best composite was 1,547 ppm Cu and 219 ppm Zn over 3.94 m from 166.83 to 170.77 meters downhole.

The second drillhole HR-ML-02 was drilled 50 m to the south of HR-ML-01 also within the Bentley Prospect and intersected 891 ppm Cu, 480 ppm Zn and 106 ppb Au over 11.71 m from 191.11 to 202.82 meters downhole.

The third drillhole HR-ML-03 was centered on the Austin Prospect and intersected narrow widths of anomalous copper and zinc mineralization from 24.64 to 69.19 m downhole with the best intersection returning 482 ppm Cu and 130 ppm Zn over 1.0 m. A second zone from 174.87 to 179.06 m also returned anomalous copper and zinc values up to 215 ppm Cu and 164 ppm Zn. Mineralization at Austin was also located within a volcanic formation.

Commenting on the results, Hudson River President & CEO Steve Balch summarized that "we have intersected anomalous copper, zinc and gold mineralization in our first three drillholes. The grades themselves are not economic but they do confirm that economic minerals are present at Bentley and Austin. Additional drilling will be required to further define these occurrences. We are particularly interested in the presence of gold in concentrations up to 0.385 g/t over 1.0 m and which is anomalous in drillhole HR-ML-02 for a length of almost 19 m."

Hudson River is planning a second phase of drilling and borehole geophysics at McFaulds Lake for a late winter program. Meanwhile the Company is preparing to drill at its 100% owned Glenrock Gold Prospect located north of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario.

The sampling and assaying of the drill core was supervised by Robert Middleton, P.Eng. who acted as the qualified person for the project. Assaying of the core samples was carried out by the ActLabs assay facility based in Thunder Bay using ICP methods – FA-ICP for Au and TD-ICP for Cu and Zn.
